The round, brownish thing in the center, is the "tutong"  ("dukot" in Cebuano), - our  favorite!

I remenber, Tatay would purposely let the tutong thicken, when he helped stir the malagkit mixed 

with coconut milk and salt, because he knew how eagerly my siblings and I were waiting for it to be

scraped from the bottom of the "kawa" (big carajay),

Inay knew how we liked the mini suman, called "suman-sumanan", so she made those ones for us,too.

Oh, these suman which I cooked today, evoked happy memories of our childhood!

PRAISE THE LORD  for giving us the best set of parents, INAY and TATAY, who gave us a very happy childhood!
